October is one of our twice-yearly membership renewal pushes, so September is a good time for a quick membership check-in.
Whether you’ve been a member for years, recently renewed, or aren’t quite sure when your membership expires, take a few minutes to make sure your membership and contact information are up to date.
Check Your Membership
The easiest place to start is the CMAA website.
Log in to check your membership status and expiration date. While you’re there, take a minute to make sure your email address, mailing address, and phone number are current.
We’ve also added email renewal reminders, so keeping that email address up to date will help us remind you when your next renewal is approaching.
If you receive The Galley by mail, you can also find your membership expiration date in the upper-right corner of the mailing label. And if you haven’t received The Galley for a cycle or two, please check both your membership status and the mailing address we have on file.
Haven’t Used Your Online Account Before?
That’s okay.
If you’ve registered with CMAA online before, start by logging in with the email address you used when you registered. If you don’t remember your password, click “Lost Password” on the login screen and follow the instructions to reset it.
Some longtime members may already have a membership record even if they haven’t used the website in a while, so please try your email address and the password reset before creating a new account.

Prefer to Pay by Check?
You can still begin your renewal online.
Go through the online membership process just as you would for an online payment, then select the option to pay by check. That gives us your current membership and contact information while still allowing you to pay the way you prefer.
If you aren’t able to complete the process online, you can also download the membership form from the CMAA website, complete it, and mail it with your check according to the instructions on the form.
We encourage you to start online when you can. It helps us keep your membership record accurate and means less information has to be entered by hand.
While You’re There, Meet the Member Directory
We’ve also added something new to the members-only area of the website: a member directory.
Members have told us they’d like more ways to connect with one another. Highland Games and gatherings are wonderful, but they may happen only once or twice a year, and sometimes nowhere near where you live. The directory gives us another way to put names with faces and stay connected between events.
That’s also why we’d love for you to add a photo to your member profile. It doesn’t need to be formal. A good, clear snapshot is perfect.
The directory is available only inside the members-only area of the website, and you decide whether you want to be listed. If you would rather not appear, check the box marked “Hide from directory?” in your profile.

We’ve tried to make most membership tasks something you can handle directly through the website, but we know questions come up.
If you’re having trouble accessing your account, aren’t sure about your membership status, wonder why The Galley hasn’t arrived, or just aren’t sure what to do next, you don’t need to figure out who handles what.
